Dr Jill Crista on the Central Role of Bile & Bile Flow in Mold Detoxification
'If you can help someone get their bile flowing, you can actually preserve their neural tissue,' mold expert and author, Dr Jill Crista, tells this podcaster.
In this interview, Dr Crista also describes how bile also has a role to play in the retina of the eye . . . a topic of peak interest to me, since my precious little dog (exhibiting all the neurological oddities of mold toxicity) returned an MRI that showed the retina in his right eye had either detached, or partially detached.
Visual processing issues and retina damage, which is related to the Visual Contrast Test (a test in which I myself fail miserably) is related to the mycotoxins gumming up the bile, says Dr Crista.
This is an interview I beseech my own vet to listen to. I need her guidance in this obviously directly relevant situation to my own, and my little dog's, supremely urgent circumstances.
Dr Crista - the author of the popular, 'Break the Mold' - discusses how:
- Bile and biliary dysfunction are intimately connected with mold toxicity. Helping your bile rid itself of mycotoxin is key in overcoming mycotoxin illness is to help your bile rid of mycotoxin illness.
- Bile has multiple important roles in the body - from its primary function of fat digestion and absorption, to its secondary but still critical roles in protecting the gut lining, the immune system, and controlling inflammation, and more.
- Bile and bile salts.
- Conditions associated with biliary dysfunction.
- The specific role of bile and mold/mycotoxin illness.
- Some unknown or forgotten roles of bile and how these play out in mold-related illness.
- The gallbladder . . . and what if you no longer have one?
- The journey of the mycotoxin - from exposure to dysfunction.
- Detoxification done right and done badly.
- The controversial topic of binders.
- The role of fibre in bile function.
- The importance of hydrochloric acid.
- Secondary impacts of mold-related illness.
- Perspectives on testing and treatment.
